Welcome to Eastern Inspection Services! 

To introduce myself I am Travis Farrar the lead inspector and President of Eastern Inspection Services LLC. Many people in the Eastern Maine area know me for my ownership of Waite Auto Salvage Inc and Tri-State Recycling, LLC which are my main lines of work within the recycling industry. 

My experience in the real estate and home inspection field dates back to 2013 for home inspections and since I was a kid for real estate. My dad owned and operated a real estate business from the early 1990s to his passing in 2018 when i took over the final real estate deals as we did our deeds and owner financing in house at the time. 

I first started in the home inspection field as a secondary income in 2013 in eastern Maine and expanded the services in 2018 to include septic system inspections 
(I have been continuously certified by Maine DHHS since 2018). During that time I also became InterNACHI certified as Certified Professional Inspector. As time moved on I started doing mold inspections, and added code inspections in late 2018. At the time I was only trained through ICC codes through several sources. I  2020 I took my Maine state CEO exams to become a certified Third-Party Code Inspector. Now keep in mind Maine does not license or certify home inspectors and code inspectors are not required to become TPI certified if they are already ICC certified but many insurance companies and towns require TPI certification to do code inspections in their towns.

My training over the years has included: InterNACHI’s School which consist of 90 hours of home inspection training and exams, ICC approved training courses on building codes for residential and commercial buildings, Electrical training, HVAC training (this was after I was already licensed as a oil burner technician in Maine), and much more.

Over the years I have held licenses as a:

• Real Estate Salesperson (Massachusetts)
• Master Oil Burner Technician with Pellet Stove and Solid Fuel authority in Maine
• Oil Burner Technician License (Massachusetts)
• Oil Burner Technician Silver level (Vermont) – Was GOLD NORA Certified into I let my certification lapse in 2025
• Limited Wood Pellet Technician (Maine
• EPA 608 Universal Certified (Lifetime)
• Kohler Small Gasoline Engine Technician Certified (Lifetime)
• Rhode Island Home Inspector (let my license lapse when I moved into doing code inspections again)
• Vermont Home Inspecrtor (lapsed when I stopped doing inspections in VT)
• and many others.

Over the years I have expanded my education and training into multiple fields. Today my main field is still in the auto recycling field but with that yard being moved to Missouri and Eastern Inspection Services, LLC staying in New England into at least 2027 I decided to stay to keep doing inspection here for the time being.

Overall I have 100s of inspections I have conducted including home, septic, some commercial (just started in late 2025), and oil tank inspections. 

I am available 7 days per week to conduct inspections and I try to keep my prices reasonable to fit most budgets.
