Certified Inspectors

Did you know Maine is one of only 11 states that DOES NOT license home inspectors? Now you maybe wondering how do I know who I should hire if the state dosent regulate the industry?

When it comes to hiring a home inspector always look for certifications such as Certified Professional Inspector® from InterNACHI or certified inspector for ASHI. Other ways is to also look for training the home inspector completed.

In Maine there is also the optional Onsite Subsurface Wastewater Disposal System Inspector Certification (click here to learn more) which is issued through DHHS. This certification is required to inspect septic systems in shoreland zoning for real estate transactions near lakes, streams, etc.. which fall within shoreland zoning areas or in unorganized territories.

Here at Eastern Inspection Services our lead inspector Travis Farrar, CPI has gone through over 90 hours of home inspection training from InterNACHI and does over 30 hours of Continuing Education yearly. He also has been trained to do Code Inspections and has passed all state exams available for non code enforcement officials (plus code official exams but is not currently signed on with any towns). He has over 12 years of experience in real estate and has formally been licensed as a Master Oil Burner Technician with pellet stove and solid fuel authority in Maine. Other licenses have included Massachusetts Oil Burner Technician, Vermont Silver Oil Burner Technician Certification, CTEP Certifications for Propane, Vermont Home Inspector License, Rhode Island Home Inspector License and even Massachusetts Real Estate Salesperson License.

We take pride in making sure our clients are treated right and receive a quality inspection whether your a seasoned investor or a first time home buyer. We will also go over issues found and all inspections come with a written report with photos of problem areas except septic inspections in which we use a state provided inspection form to make it easier for agencies like LUPC when examining the inspection documents.

Credit / Debit Cards (Visa, MC, Discover, Amex), Cash (day of inspection), and Cryptocurrency payments.

We do require all inspections be paid prior to inspection or at time of report being released. We provide inspection reports within 48 hours of the inspection.
